    GeTonya T. Dickerson is a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her professional associations include the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Associate of the American College of Cardiology. GeTonya is a Mississippi native who grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and later relocated to Texas.

    GeTonya received her undergraduate training including her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She continued her post-graduate nursing in the Cardiac Telemetry Unit at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. Very early in her career, it was evident that GeTonya was focused and determined to reach her professional goals. She was designated as the charge nurse within 3 months and later assisted as a House Supervisor of the hospital. GeTonya prided herself on being a mentor and leader and was quickly promoted to the Assistant Manager position of the Cardiac Telemetry Unit.

    Her passion for nursing and the drive to continue her education led her to pursue her lifelong goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. She returned to the University of Texas in Arlington, earning her Master of Science in Nursing – Nurse Practitioner Degree.

    Mrs. Dickerson has nearly two decades of medical experience, beginning her advanced practice career as an Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, Texas as a Hospitalist. GeTonya then practiced Internal Medicine at an outpatient clinic in Arlington, Texas for several years before furthering her career at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she began her practice as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner. GeTonya has made significant contributions to patient care through lectures and is a frequent speaker within the community focusing on heart health in women bringing tremendous value to the Cardiac and Vascular Interventional Group.

    Working in collaboration with physicians at the Cardiac and Vascular Interventional Group in Dallas, Texas, GeTonya strives to provide quality patient care in underserved communities. Some of her expertise and special interests include Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Artery Disease, Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias, and Structural Heart Disease.

    GeTonya has many years of advanced practice nursing with a wide range of specialties, but her primary focus is Cardiovascular Medicine. She remains current on all studies regarding the management of cardiac patients.

    When GeTonya is not caring for patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and
    daughter, traveling the world, and attending her children’s extracurricular activities.
